"I formed bonds here that go far beyond football and will last a lifetime"

Cole Brockwell

As with all American football clubs, we need imports to strengthen our Swedish talents on the field. Here, Cole Brockwell shares his experiences from his time in Tyresö last year. 

Can you tell us a bit about your football background?

"I started playing flag football in first grade and transitioned to tackle football in third grade, and I’ve been playing ever since. Football has been a constant in my life, shaping who I am both on and off the field. I was fortunate enough to compete at the Division I level, playing for the University of Rhode Island Rams. During my senior year, we won a conference championship and advanced to the FCS playoffs — both accomplishments that had not been achieved at URI in 39 years. That experience helped prepare me for high-level competition and reinforced the importance of discipline, resilience, and teamwork."

What was your experience like playing for the Tyresö Royal Crowns?

"Playing for the Tyresö Royal Crowns was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt accepted into the TRC family, which made this season truly special. The coaches, players, staff, and everyone involved created an environment built on trust, passion, and commitment. I formed bonds here that go far beyond football and will last a lifetime."

Is there any particular memory you take with you from that time?

"There are so many memories I’ll take with me, but one that stands out most is our semifinal win over Örebro. Coming back in the second half and seeing everyone respond with resilience, belief, and faith in one another was truly special. That moment captured what this team was all about and is something I’ll never forget, especially as it carried us all the way to the final. I feel incredibly blessed and grateful to God for the opportunity to play this game, to meet such amazing people, and to be part of an experience I’ll carry with me forever. Thank you again for everything and for making this season so special."
